Senior Yoga
Real Yoga to Meet the Needs of Seniors’ Changing Bodies.
The senior classes are geared to the 55 and older population. These classes are taught at a slower pace and use blocks, straps and kneeling pads as tools to assist the practitioner gain access to the yoga poses. Many common limitations, such as: osteoporosis, balance, knee flexibility, hip immobility, core stability, arthritis, bone density, sciatica, bone density and rotator cuff issues are addressed and modifications given to help students work towards greater mobility and range of motion. We include standing postures, kneeling postures, seated postures, prone and supine postures and meditation/relaxation. This class is practiced to music and laughter is encouraged!
